Mixing and Mastering for Independent Musicians

Budget friendly, unlimited revisions, no payment until it’s done.

Over the past 15 years, my mixing and production has been exclusively of my own music and for my students and friends. As I continue to refine my practice, I’ve decided to offer my mixing, production and mastering services to local, independent musicians and bands whom are looking for a flexible, affordable and stress-free mixing experience. As a full-time musician and teacher, my goal with this additional service is to sharpen my skills as a mixing engineer/producer and to help provide the San Diego community with a risk-free and enjoyable mixing process.

This process is as follows:

1. We’ll have a chat about your song(s), including any demos, applicable references, stylistic requests, and whatever else you may have in mind to help us both.

2. We’ll discuss and work completely within your budget. If money is extra tight, I’ll do my best to fulfill your goals without taking up a disproportionate amount of my own time. Please note that in any ‘extreme’ budget cases, my level of fine detail and intricacy may need to be compromised for sake of time.

3. Once we’re good to go, you can send me your tracks and I’ll get to work. I’ll send regular mix updates to check in on progress, and/or if you want to come over and iron anything out in person, I’m happy to have ya. Any full mixes that I send will have brief regions cut to protect myself from thievery.

4. Importantly, all my my clients will be entitled to unlimited, free revisions. As a musician and “artist”, I fully respect the financial risk, creative struggle, and the balance between the two when it comes to paying someone else for your music to be the way you want it to be. In our case, worst case scenario is you’re unhappy with my mixing, and decide to take the song elsewhere. In that case, no payment is required on your part. I do, however, feel confident that we can succeed within your budget and reach complete satisfaction with the end result.

5. Once the mix is finalized, payment will be sent (Venmo, Zelle, Dogecoin) and I’ll send you the final WAV! For the best final result, I do believe getting alternative ears on the mix and sending it elsewhere for mastering can never hurt. I do a good deal of my own mastering alongside the mixing process, but however you choose to navigate mastering is cool with me. I can always send you multiple versions (with and without limiting) so you can shop around other options if you’d like.
